Dr. Jarren Ray, Therapeutic Optometrist

Dr. Jarren Ray was born and raised in Grady, NM.  After graduating from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor and a Master degree in Agricultural Biology, Dr. Ray attended optometry school at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  He received his optometry degree in 2008 and then completed a one year residency in ocular desease at the Albuquerque VA hospital in Albuquerque, NM.  Dr. Ray practices general optometry with a focus in ocular deasease, specialty contact lens fits, pro and post refractive surgery care, and pediatric care.  He is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.  

Dr. Ray's family includes his wife (Hailey), step-daughter (Aleah), and dog (Cracker).  He is very involved with his local church, Shadow Hills Baptist Church.  His hobbies include singing, playing guitar, and enjoying time with his family. 



Dr. Amanda Gonzales was born in Brownfield, Texas. She obtained an undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Clinical Laboratory Science in 2003. She then continued her education at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she became a Doctor of Optometry in 2010. She also completed a residency in Primary Eye Care at the VA Medical Center in Amarillo, Texas in 2011.  While at Northeastern State University, Dr. Gonzales’ research was presented at the American Optometric Association in 2010.

 Dr. Gonzales is board eligible. She will become board certified in the summer of 2012. Additionally, she is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.

Dr. Gonzales is a West Texas native. She has local ties through her family who live in the area and through her previous employment at Lubbock Heart Hospital and Covenant Medical Center prior to attending optometry school.  She is currently active in the Young Adult Group at Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Parish and attends church service at Saint John Neumann Catholic Parish.
